Description

Anubias nana is a small epiphytic plant reaching 10 to 15 cm in height. Its leaves are oval, dark glossy green, and its creeping rhizome allows attachment to rocks or driftwood. It rarely flowers underwater but produces a typical white Araceae inflorescence. Growth is very slow, making it an easy-care plant. It is resistant to herbivores such as catfish and cichlids. It is one of the most popular species in the aquarium hobby.

Care notes

Undemanding plant, tolerates a wide range of parameters. Ideal temperature 22-28°C, pH 6-7.5, GH 3-10. Low to moderate light; too much light encourages algae on leaves. Do not bury the rhizome, attach it to a hard surface. CO2 fertilization not required but beneficial. Slow growth, rarely needs trimming. Compatible with most fish and shrimp. Minimum tank size 10 liters.
