Description
This Cirrhilabrus reaches 10 cm. Males have a red-orange body with blue highlights and a highly developed dorsal fin. Females are more discreet, often pale pink. It lives in small groups in current-prone areas. It is a protogynous hermaphrodite. It feeds on zooplankton. In aquariums, it is active and requires ample swimming space. It is sensitive to water quality. It may jump, so a lid is essential. Its coloration intensifies with a good diet.

Temperature 22-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025, GH 8-12, KH 7-11. Minimum tank volume 250 liters. Carnivorous diet: brine shrimp, mysis, copepods, quality flake food. It is peaceful and compatible with most reef fish. Avoid aggressive species. A lid is mandatory. It needs live rock for hiding and open space for swimming. It can be kept in a harem. Nitrates <20 mg/L, phosphates <0.05 mg/L. Stable, well-oxygenated water is crucial.
