Temminck's fairy wrasse is a small, colorful wrasse highly sought after in reef aquariums.
Description
This fish has an elongated, laterally compressed body with bright colors ranging from orange-red to electric blue. Adult males display highly developed dorsal and anal fins. It is active and swims mainly in the water column, occasionally hiding in crevices. It is a diurnal species that feeds on zooplankton. Males can be territorial with each other. In an aquarium, it is generally peaceful with other species.

Care notes
Maintain a temperature of 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity 1.023-1.025. A minimum tank volume of 200 liters is recommended. Feed a varied diet: mysis, brine shrimp, small crustaceans, and marine fish preparations. It is compatible with most reef fish, but avoid keeping it with aggressive wrasses. A lid is necessary as it may jump. Water parameters must be stable, with nitrates below 20 mg/L and phosphates below 0.05 mg/L. Efficient filtration and moderate lighting are suitable.
