The Peppered Corydoras is a peaceful, schooling bottom-dweller, very popular in the hobby. It is recognized by its marbled pattern and barbels.
Description
This fish has a stocky, armored body with a beige to gray base color covered in irregular dark spots. It has three pairs of sensory barbels around the mouth. Fins are transparent with some black spots. It is a schooling fish that lives in groups and spends its time sifting through the substrate for food. It is very peaceful and compatible with most community fish. Reproduction occurs by laying eggs on hard surfaces; eggs are adhesive. Parents do not care for the eggs.

Care notes
A minimum 60-liter tank is recommended for a group of 5–6. Ideal temperature 22–26°C, pH 6.0–7.5, GH 5–15. Substrate should be fine and smooth to protect barbels. Provide a varied diet: sinking tablets, bloodworms, brine shrimp. This fish is very peaceful and can coexist with tetras, rasboras, peaceful gouramis. Keep in groups of at least 5. Regular water changes are important. Avoid aggressive or overly large fish.
