Description

Favia speciosa forms massive or encrusting colonies, sometimes irregular domes. Polyps are large and fleshy with long, colorful tentacles. Color is highly variable: bright green, purple, brown, sometimes with contrasting centers. Septa are fine and numerous. It is a spectacular species but sensitive to parameter fluctuations. Growth is moderate.
