Description

Fissidens fontanus is a slow-growing aquatic moss with small leaves arranged in two rows. It forms compact dark green cushions. Its stems are branched and attach to hard surfaces. It prefers cool, well-oxygenated water. In the aquarium, it needs moderate light and gentle flow. No CO2 required but appreciates light fertilization. Ideal for natural aquariums and shrimp tanks.

Care notes

Keep temperature 15-26°C, pH 6-7.5. Moderate light, avoid intense direct light. No CO2 needed, but liquid NPK fertilization promotes growth. Soft to moderately hard water. Gentle flow is beneficial.
