Description
Montipora danae forms encrusting or foliaceous colonies with small, tightly packed corallites. Its color is usually green, pink, or orange, sometimes with contrasting edges. The polyps are very small and extend only at night. It is a hardy coral that tolerates moderate to high light. It grows quickly and can cover rocks. It is peaceful and can be placed near other corals without conflict.

Stable parameters: temperature 24-27°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025, calcium 400-450 ppm, magnesium 1250-1350 ppm. Moderate to intense lighting. Moderate flow. Feeding: photosynthetic, but may benefit from phytoplankton. Minimum tank volume: 60 liters for a frag, 150 liters for a colony. Compatible with most reef fish. Avoid coral-eating fish. Easy propagation by fragmentation.
