Doria's loach is a small, peaceful bottom-dwelling fish, recognizable by its elongated body and spotted pattern. It lives in groups and enjoys soft, acidic water.
Description
Pangio doriae reaches about 8–10 cm in adulthood. Its body is elongated, slightly laterally compressed, with a beige to light brown base color dotted with small irregular dark spots. The fins are translucent. It is a gregarious, nocturnal fish that hides in the substrate or under plant debris. It is very active at night and can be seen sifting through sand for food. In the aquarium, it is shy and requires plenty of hiding places. It gets along well with other peaceful species of similar size.

Care notes
A minimum 60-liter aquarium is recommended, with a fine sandy substrate and gentle filtration. Ideal parameters: temperature 24–28 °C, pH 5.5–7.0, GH 2–8, KH 1–4. Add roots, stones, and floating plants to dim the light. Feed with small live or frozen foods, as well as sinking pellets. Change 20% water weekly. Avoid fast or aggressive fish. Breeding in captivity is rare but possible under very stable conditions.
