Description
Acanthastrea ishigakiensis forms encrusting or massive colonies of modest size. Polyps are fleshy and often green, orange or pink. It is less aggressive than other Acanthastrea. Growth is slow. It feeds mainly through photosynthesis but accepts fine prey. This species is sought after for its rarity and pastel hues.

Parameters identical to other Acanthastrea: 24-27°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.023-1.025. Moderate lighting, moderate flow. Minimum tank 100 liters. Feed fine meaty foods 1-2 times per week. Nitrates <10 ppm, phosphates <0.1 ppm. Calcium 400-450, magnesium 1200-1350. Pay attention to parameter stability as this species is more delicate. Avoid sudden changes.
