Description
The blue chromis grows up to 12 cm. Its body is bright blue with a darker shade on the back. The fins are blue. It is a peaceful and active fish that swims in schools. It is less territorial than other damselfish. In aquariums, it is hardy and easy to keep. It reproduces by laying eggs on a substrate.

The blue chromis inhabits Caribbean coral reefs, often in schools above corals. It prefers clear, shallow waters of lagoons and reef slopes. It feeds on zooplankton.

Temperature 24-28°C, pH 8.1-8.4, salinity 1.020-1.025. Minimum tank size 200 liters for a school. Omnivorous: plankton, brine shrimp, mysis. Compatible with all peaceful fish. Keep in groups of at least 5. Avoid aggressive fish. Captive breeding possible.
