Description

Hypancistrus L260 has an elongated body and a dark brown to black coloration with white or cream wavy lines. Its eyes are large and its belly is lighter. It is a nocturnal species that spends the day hidden in crevices. It is territorial but peaceful with other fish. Its caudal fin is slightly forked. It can reach 12 cm. It is often confused with L046 but its patterns are finer.

Diet should include bottom-dwelling tablets, blanched vegetables (zucchini, cucumber) and frozen foods like brine shrimp. Moderate water flow is appreciated. Hiding places (rocks, roots, PVC pipes) are essential. It is compatible with peaceful fish of similar size. Avoid aggressive species. Clean, well-oxygenated water is crucial.
