Description

L001 is a large fish that can reach 40 cm. Its body is massive, gray-brown to black, with characteristic reddish eyes. It has a powerful sucker mouth and odontodes on the opercula. It is a nocturnal and peaceful species, but territorial with conspecifics. It feeds mainly on wood (xylophagous) and algae. Its growth is slow. It is highly valued for its imposing size.

Care notes

Temperature 24-28°C, pH 6.5-7.5, GH 5-15, KH 2-8. A minimum 300-liter aquarium is necessary. Diet must include driftwood (essential), blanched vegetables and herbivore tablets. Strong water flow is appreciated. Spacious hiding places (caves, large roots) are essential. Compatible with medium to large fish. Avoid very aggressive species. Powerful filtration is required.
