Description

Poecilia latipinna can reach 10-12 cm. Males have a large erect dorsal fin. Color ranges from gray to olive green with blue iridescence. Females are smaller and less colorful. This fish is peaceful and active. It enjoys planted tanks with open areas. It tolerates a wide range of salinity. It is a prolific livebearer.

Care notes

A minimum 80 L tank is recommended. Water can be soft to hard (GH 10-25, KH 10-20), pH 7.0-8.5, temperature 24-28°C. Adding salt (1-2 teaspoons per 10 L) is beneficial. Efficient filtration is needed. Feed flakes, algae and live foods. Keep a group of 4-6 individuals. Avoid aggressive fish. Perform 25% weekly water changes.
