Description

The shell of Tylomelania towutica is elongated, conical, orange to reddish, with spiral striae. It measures 5-7 cm in length. The operculum is horny. It is a viviparous species giving birth to fully formed young. It feeds on algae, biofilm, and leftover food. It is more active at night. It needs stable, hard, alkaline water. Its bright color makes it a choice subject for Sulawesi biotope aquariums.

Peaceful, compatible with calm fish. Avoid predators. Slow reproduction. Clean, well-oxygenated water is essential. Add limestone rocks to stabilize pH.
