Description
Rosy barb grows up to 8 cm. Males display a bright pink to red coloration on the body and fins, especially during breeding. Females are duller, silvery. The body is fusiform and slightly compressed. It is a gregarious fish that must live in groups of at least 6. It is very active and swims throughout the water column. It is known for its hardiness and ease of care.

A minimum 80-liter aquarium is suitable for a group. Temperature 22-26°C, pH 6.0-7.5, low to medium hardness. A planted setup with open areas is appreciated. Omnivorous, accepts flakes, pellets, and live food. Compatible with most peaceful fish of similar size. Avoid very slow or long-finned species. Breeding is easy in a specific tank with fine plants.
