Description

Monodactylus argenteus reaches 15-25 cm. Its body is very laterally compressed, almost round, with a beautiful silvery-bright color and two black vertical bands in the juvenile stage. It lives in schools in estuaries and mangroves. It tolerates wide salinity variations. It is a peaceful but gregarious fish, best kept in groups.
